PROFICIENCY IN FAST RESCUE BOATS (PFRB)

Scope: The course aims to provide the training for candidates to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat, in accordance with Section A-VI/2 of the STCW Code.

Objective: Trainees successfully completing this course shall be able to take charge of the preparation,embarkation, launching and recovery, handling, safety; rescue procedures and maintenance of fast rescue boat. Trainees should also know the correct use of equipment, start and operate properly the engine required for maneuvering. He must be able to demonstrate the required competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in column 1 of table A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code.
