Scope:This course covers the mandatory minimum requirements for the issue of certificates of proficiency in survival craft specified in regulation VI/2 para. 1-3 and provisions section B V1/2 para. 2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended.

Objective:Trainees successfully completing this course will be able to take charge of the preparation,embarkation and launching of survival craft. They will also be able to manage a boat under oars, sail or motor and take charge of an inflatable lifreraft. Trainees will know the correct use of all survival equipment and the actions to take to preserve the lives of those in their charge
